The member representing Iwo State Constituency at the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Rabiu Atanda, has described the current administration in Osun as a misfit, suggesting that the state is being steered in the wrong direction.
This was as he declared his support for the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Mr Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that Atanda who was elected under the Peoples Democratic Party recently defected to the All Progressives Congress over alleged inability to secure his return ticket in the party.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page on Monday, the lawmaker urged Osun electorates to vote for the APC candidate, describing him as a known and tested person.
He noted that his support for Oyebamiji was a necessary step toward correcting what he called an executive misnomer.
“It is important to correct the previous mistake and replace the executive misfit with a person of known and tested capacity, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji,” he said.
Atanda said Ademola Adeleke’s administration was a trial-and-error government that only excelled at nepotism.
“We have to kick out the trial-and-error administration in Osun. Iwo should not take a neutral stand — we should lead the change,” he added.
The lawmaker expressed confidence that the APC will return to power in Osun State through the mandate of the people, calling on Iwo residents to be part of what he described as a historic engagement.
