The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspects over an alleged robbery attack on a family at Wuro Kuturu, Jimeta, in Yola North Local Government Area of the state.
The incident occurred around midnight on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, when 20-year-old Aminu Adamu allegedly conspired with two others to rob his mother and siblings.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, September 18, 2026.
According to the statement, the suspects, armed with dangerous weapons, allegedly gained entry into the family residence and stole N200,000 in cash, two mobile phones and a power bank.
Adamu, alongside Adamu Mamman, 22, and Nuhu Umar, 22, was arrested by operatives of the Karewa Area Command on Thursday, September 17, following a report lodged by his mother.
The police said a knife, pliers, scissors, various suspected hard drugs and a quantity of suspected Indian hemp were recovered from the suspects.
“The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with a robbery attack on a family at Wuro Kuturu, Jimeta,” the statement read.
“The incident occurred on Tuesday, 15th September, 2026, at about midnight, when the victim’s son allegedly conspired with two others, armed themselves with dangerous weapons and gained entry into the family residence, where they robbed his mother and siblings of cash sum of N200,000, two phones and a power bank.
“The suspects, identified as: Aminu Adamu, 20 years, Adamu Mamman, 22 years, Nuhu Umar, 22 years, all of Wuro Kuturu, Nassarawo, Yola North LGA, were arrested by operatives attached to Karewa Area Command on Thursday, 17th September, 2026, following a report lodged by the mother.
“Items recovered from the suspects include a knife, pliers, scissors, various suspected hard drugs and a quantity of suspected Indian hemp.
“During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime.
“The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, fdc, has directed that a thorough investigation be conducted and the suspects be diligently prosecuted upon completion of investigation.
“The Command reiterates its commitment to protecting lives and property and urges members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the Police.”
The suspects are expected to face prosecution after the completion of the investigation.
