Former Chairman of Ede North LCDA, Hon. Mukaila Uthman Beile, has said former Osun State Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, is the “genesis of the fall of the APC in Osun.”
Beile stated this while publicly apologising to Dr Sekinat Bola Oyebamiji, wife of the Osun State APC governorship candidate, Alhaji Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, over his failure to answer her calls during the electioneering period.
Beile said he saw the missed calls but deliberately chose not to answer them, explaining that his decision was driven by his loyalty to former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, rather than disrespect for her.
He recalled the support Oyebamiji’s wife had given him and his family when they needed medical attention, describing her as his personal doctor and gynaecologist and referring to her as “my God-sent” during a difficult period in his life.
“I know you called me because of our relationship, but I wasn’t there when you needed me most. It’s not because we are enemies; it’s because of my deep loyalty to Rauf Aregbesola,” he said.
Beile added that he would never associate himself with former Osun State Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola.
“I’d never be a hypocrite. The main cause of the crisis in the APC was Oyetola. I am an eyewitness,” he said.
Recalling a meeting between the local government chairmen who served from 2018 to 2022 and Oyetola after he assumed office as governor, Beile said the former governor made it clear during the meeting that he did not want anything to do with Aregbesola.
Beile subsequently described Oyetola as “the genesis of the fall of the APC in Osun,” saying he would never forgive him for what he alleged was his role in the party’s crisis.
