The Nigerian naira closed the week with a slight decline against the United States dollar at both the official and parallel foreign exchange markets.
As of Sunday, September 27, 2026, the latest available official market data is from Friday, September 25, as the foreign exchange market does not trade on Sundays.
At the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), the dollar closed at ₦1,329.51 per dollar on Friday, compared with ₦1,328.67 recorded in the previous trading session. This represents a marginal depreciation of 84 kobo by the naira.
In the parallel market, the dollar was quoted at about ₦1,370 per dollar on Friday, according to market reports. The rate remained unchanged from the previous session.
The latest figures mean that Nigerians buying $100 would need approximately ₦132,951 at the official NFEM rate, while the same amount would cost about ₦137,000 at the reported parallel-market rate.

With September 27 falling on a Sunday, official forex trading will resume on Monday, when a fresh market rate is expected to emerge.
Actual rates available to buyers and sellers may vary depending on the bank, Bureau De Change operator, location, transaction size and prevailing market conditions.
